Pillar 02 · Digital identity

Proving who you are, anywhere.

A foundational digital ID lets anyone prove who they are, and lets services verify them remotely and safely. It is the gateway to a bank account, a social transfer or a SIM card, and the pillar that makes digital payments reach people who were never on the books.

MOSIP

A public good for national ID.

MOSIP gives countries the core of a foundational identity system without locking them to a single vendor. It is the platform we design around when identity has to connect to payments.

Open-source foundational ID

MOSIP (Modular Open Source Identity Platform) is a digital public good for building national foundational ID systems, used by governments in Africa and Asia.

Modular by design

Registration, biometric deduplication, identity issuance and authentication are separate modules, so a country can choose its own vendors for each part.

Privacy built in

Tokenised identifiers and consent-based authentication mean services verify a person without collecting more data than they need.
Identity meets payments

Where identity pays off.

An ID system on its own changes little. Its value shows up when it is wired into the services people use. Payments is where that link is strongest.

eKYC for account opening

A bank, wallet or SACCO verifies a customer against the national ID in seconds, instead of photocopies and branch visits.

Tiered accounts

Verification strength decides account limits, so low-risk customers can start small and upgrade as they verify more.

Alias-based payments

A verified identity or phone number becomes a payment address on the instant payment system.

Targeted transfers

Government-to-person payments reach the right person, once, without leakage or duplicate beneficiaries.
How we help

What we bring.

  1. 01

    Advisory and architecture

How identity should connect to your payment system and onboarding processes, and what that means for policy, data protection and procurement.
  2. 02

    Integration with payments

Connecting eKYC and authentication to account opening, tiered KYC and the alias directory of the payment rail.
  3. 03

    Security and data protection

Access control, audit trails and data residency designed to the same information security practice we run under our own ISMS.
